In 1993, after a successful try at partnership, David Johnston and Luc Vermette, decided to form a durable association.
In 2007, Johnston-Vermette acquired the group OPTEC Energy Services inc., a firm specialized in the oil and petrochemical industries in Quebec and abroad.
In 2008, Johnston-Vermette acquired the Opti-Conseil inc., a group that worked mainly in mechanical and thermal processes, cogeneration, energy conservation, steam, and condensate. Johnston-Vermette also acquired the firm SIMEE inc.
In 2010, the firm SIMEE Inc, became Johnston-Vermette Construction Inc. (JVC).
In 2015, OPTEC Energy Services Inc. becomes Johnston-Vermette International.
